Fall is packed with fashion events and this weekend is no exception. So to all of you complaining about how you have nothing to do this weekend, you’re welcome.
Mighty Swell Pop-up Sale
To commemorate its two-year anniversary, Mighty Swell hosts a fall sale. If you’ve never experienced the magic that is this charming vintage pop-up store, you’re in for a treat. I was almost reluctant to write this post, because I wanted to keep this South Minneapolis gem all to myself. Lovely ladies and Minneapolis-based bloggers Meghan McAndrews and Rae Danneman run the show behind this “blink-and-you-miss-it shopping extravaganza.” This weekend’s event will feature new vendors and a bake sale (fuel, really, for all the energy you’ll expend shopping). See you there!
Sa 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Su 12-5 pm. 3109 E. 42nd St., Mpls., mightyswell.com
StevenBe Fashion Show
Knits have taken over the runways. Just in case you missed it, here’s your chance at an up-close look at one of fall’s hottest trends. Fashion Takes Balls – Knits Go Runway for a Cause is the clever moniker for a show that will feature local and not-so-local knitwear and handcrafted accessories. Tickets for the evening range from $28 to $78 with proceeds going toward the StevenBe Creative Community Foundation. The new charity’s goal is to “enliven, inspire and uplift” the community with fiber arts, from felting to spinning to weaving. If you like what you see, check out StevenBe online or in person for more information on knitting workshops and tutorials.
Sa 6-8 pm. Pillsbury House Theater, 3501 Chicago Ave., Mpls., stevenbe.com
