This week, we didn’t need to look further than our very own office for some style inspiration. Associate editor Kara Eliason was looking sleek on Monday morning in a silky shirtdress, which she paired with leggings and ballet flats.

From the new and improved Shops at Target, the dress is a perfect transition piece, not only from summer to fall, but also from day to night. For Soho boutique owners Beth Buccini and Sarah Easley, “more is more.” Their philosophy is reflected in a bold (by mainstream standards), yet wearable line of women’s clothing, jewelry, and accessories. In case you missed it, read Allison Kaplan’s preview of the discount retailer’s partnership with Kirna Zabête and three other boutiques here. Target has stepped up its game in terms of the products offered, but presentation is still lacking. To be fair, providing a true boutique experience would be tough for any big chain.

The secret seems to be picking the right partners for collaboration. The KZ line as a whole is very wearable, and reflects many of the most buzzed-about fall trends. From a faux leather skirt ($39.99) to a real leather jacket ($199.99), the collection proves that chic can be affordable.

The lightweight, sheer fabric is anchored by darker hues. Kara's find is a fall wardrobe staple, perfect for layering.
