Thank goodness for the Minneapolis Skyways. Minnesota may see more than its fair share of rough winters, but freezing winds, snow, and hail can’t touch us in our climate-controlled, seven-mile long walkway haven.
But I have missed one thing about sauntering outside at street level—window displays. Window dressings showcasing sales, new merchandise, or the season’s top trends are worth braving drastic temperatures for. And now with a milder climate in our midst, I was finally able to gorge myself on some street-level eye candy.
Bright totes and carry-alls were in almost every Saks Off 5th storefront window. Neon bursts of yellow, green, and pink looked at home amongst the bright denim and striped attire.

This tri-tone Kooba bag was spotted in a Neiman Marcus window, pairing lovely neutral and navy with a muted citron. Take note, too, of the gold hardware and chic, structured silhouette.

Last but not least, another Neiman Marcus display showed off a fashionable Lanvin snakeskin bag. The takeaway? Be it real or fake, exotic skins are definitely in this spring.

So the next time lunch hour rolls around, celebrate the mild weather and take your skyway stroll on the street for a change of pace—and some fashion inspiration!
