Sure perennials are pretty, but we’re loving the annuals—those spring fashions that pop up year after year. The go-to pieces for spring make it an effortless season for fashion. Stores are stocked with the essentials: florals, sandals, and bright polish. And the weather is calling your name. But one of our all time favorites, a true essential, is the jean jacket.
The right jean jacket stays with you for years, its fabric only made softer with repeated wear. Best of all, denim works for all seasons. Layered with warm hoodies underneath, jean jackets are tough against winter wind. Over a cashmere sweater, denim dresses down an outfit for apple picking in fall. Spring, however, is when denim is at its best.

Faded denim and a printed maxi dress create an entirely different effect, one well suited for a summer music festival. Emma Roberts must have been on her way to Bonnaroo when she wore this laid-back look.

It even works for guys, though seriously what doesn’t work on Kanye? Gap has been the trusted name in jean jackets for years, but if you can’t find what you like there, you can always just steal your boyfriend’s.
