For the Dedicated Followers of Fashion

Just a quick note to point the fellas to a fleeting shopping opportunity . . . . But first, a tangent: Last year, after Neiman Marcus turned on the pressure, the folks at Gaviidae Commons opted not to renew the lease for Atmosfere, a particularly fashionable men’s store. So the proprietor simply moved his shop to nearby Uptown—but unfortunately, only about half of his clients (mostly businessmen) followed him there.

The original point: Right now, the shop has a temporary outpost (see above) in an uncharted corner of downtown—at the Westin, upstairs from BANK at the skyway level. Through April 17, the store, which is called “Suit Up,” will be a great place to buy hand-stitched Italian wool suits for just $349 as well as some shirts, ties, and a smattering of sportswear. But it’s only open Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. From the sound of things, this pop-up shop will do three-week runs every now and again.
