Since opening late last year, Casa Verde Design has shown Minnesotans that environmentally friendly home products can work into homes of all styles, including elegant traditionals. With Earth Day quickly approaching (tomorrow, Wednesday!), the time is perfect to check out the show room if you haven't already. Join Casa Verde staff designers Rosemary Merrill and Liz Schupanitz along with notable chefs, furniture designers, and others from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as they discuss eco-friendly home design and prepare gourmet organic dishes at the show room's first-ever Gourmet Greens event. Thursday, the place to be is Ampersand at Galleria in Edina, where Dave Gooding, the founder of exquisite tableware brand Juliska, presents a host of seminars on home entertaining along with his wife, Capucine, Juliska's design director. The couple's appearance coincides with the debut of Ampersand's new Juliska Shop. You'll be able to see Juliska's beautiful new Pewter Stoneware collection that uses a metallic glaze that is safe for the oven, microwave, dishwasher, and freezer. The seminars start at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. (reserve a spot by calling 952-922-9440), but the Goodings will be on hand most of the day if you want to tap them for advice. Enjoy!
