With 60 days left to go we are entering the home stretch of our journey to the altar. We have an (optimistic) goal of having everything completed two weeks prior to the wedding, so that leaves us with roughly six weeks to complete the 30 items remaining on our to-do list. These are a few of the projects we’ve been busy with recently . . .
We have just started the process of digging through all of our childhood photos to find the ones we want to include in our slideshows. Of course this can be a fun and sentimental experience—especially when you find adorable keepsakes like the photos below. But it can also be slightly horrifying to find out your soon-to-be-trophy-spouse once had a mullet or a bowl cut. (Josh had the mullet, I had the bowl cut. Both of those are true stories.)

While 30 to-dos seems manageable I realized that I could utilize the talents of a few other women in my life to shorten the list. I asked my mom and younger sister to be in charge of our Friday night desserts. We are hosting a casual dinner for guests arriving at the resort on Friday night, and it will be followed by a bonfire on the beach. So I’ve asked my mom and sister to be in charge of the s’mores supplies, since they are both incredibly creative I can’t wait to see what they come up with. While I’m discussing the talents of my mom, I have to share the purse she handmade and hand embroidered just for my wedding day!

Josh’s Mom makes incredible handmade soap. It’s the only kind of bar soap you’ll find in our apartment and it smells amazing. She’s also great at surprising us with little gift bags for special occasions, so it was a no-brainer to put her in charge of gift bags for guests staying at the resort. Of course we decided they needed to be filled with her handmade soap, and so we spent a Sunday afternoon making several batches of soap for our guests!

As you can see, we are keeping pretty busy with the planning, but it feels great to delegate out a few of the tasks and put them into the hands of people that are even more capable of making them perfect for our big day! I think it’s important for all brides to assess their to-do lists and try to select a few projects that can be given away to people you trust.
