Who: Local do-gooders and wine aficionados
What: WineFest No. 17: A Toast to Children’s Health
Where: The Depot Minneapolis
When: May 11-12, 2012
Why: To support research at University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital
Kudos: The wine selection was tops. Guests chose from more than 400 wines to sip on. Bonus: More than 20 Twin Cities restaurants—such as Solera and Cafe Latté—offered signature dishes for the grand tasting.
Dress Code: Guests donned smart business attire Friday for the grand tasting. But attendees stepped it up for the fine wine dinner Saturday night in suits, ties, and elegant dresses. Amidst the classic black-and-white palette, there were occasional pops of fuchsia and emerald green.
Memorable Moments: Wine masters shared stories about the family traditions that make their wines unique. And the live auction included a painting by featured 18-year-old artist Jimmy Reagan.
