No 8: A Benefit Art Auction

Who: Artists, art patrons, and people who like hip parties
What: No. 8: A Benefit Art Auction
Where: Aria at the Jeune Lune
When: April 20, 2012
Why: To support Midway Contemporary Art

Spotted: Stylish Twin Cities couple Tom and Angie Wicka. While Tom looked dapper in a checked jacket, Angie killed it in funky leggings and sky-high heels. I also ran into Midway Contemporary Art’s executive director, John Rasmussen, and associate director, Megan McCready.

Kudos: This party had great signature cocktails. My favorite? A combination of whiskey, ginger vanilla cinnamon syrup, apple, and Joia Blackberry Pomegranate & Ginger soda. One was not enough.

Dress Code: Outfits were all over the map. I saw colorful cocktail dresses, fur vests, bow ties, patterned jackets, geek-chic glasses, and leggings galore.

Memorable Moment: The live auction, when sculptures, photography, and paintings sold for thousands of dollars each. Clearly I’m not in the same income bracket as these art patrons.
