David Anderson is a Los Angeles–based writer and filmmaker who pens the "Letter from LA" column in Mpls.St.Paul Magazine. He contributes to several local and national publications and is currently in post-production on a PBS FrontlineWorld documentary which he coproduced. Raised in Plymouth on Garrison Keillor, Legos, and Minnesota lakes, David quickly developed a love for storytelling, plastic cities, and pontoons. A graduate of Wayzata High School and Northwestern University, he moved to Los Angeles (a plastic city, no doubt) to seek his fortune as writer/filmmaker/manny (male nanny). The manny career came to an abrupt end when he was bedridden with mononucleosis. No, he was not kissing the children . . . nor the children’s mother. When back home in the Twin Cities, David enjoys evenings at Nye’s, POP!, and driving his grandparents around town in their Mercury Grand Marquis.
