Many of you probably feel like summer hasn’t even really started, but here’s something that is sure to kick it into high gear . . . I give you, the very anticipated, much dreamed about, highly-awaited list of the new foods being debuted at The Minnesota State Fair:
Here are the HIGHLIGHTS!
The Famous Dave’s special of Cajun pork rinds is right on (Make Skin Happen! #Cheechrules).
Chop dogs from Kramarczuk’s at Blue Moon Diner . . . looks like an all-beef hot dog chopped and grilled and stuffed into a sandwich. Can be chili-dogged y’all.
Cocoa cheese bites from Axel’s . . . cheddar nuggets breaded with Cocoa Puffs and fried, serve with chocolate dipping sauce. Hmmmm, I’m not MAD at these, but we’ll see.
Comet corn at Blue Moon . . . liquid nitro formed caramel corn so you can breathe foggy fun at your friends.
Onions rings battered in Indeed Brewing’s Daytripper at the Ballpark Cafe. Win.
Lobster mac n’ cheese is making it’s Fair debut at Oodles of Noodles.
Izzy’s will feature at Mini-Donut Batter Crunch (yes. mini-donut batter) ice cream at the Hamline Dining Hall.
Philly fries at Andy’s Grill will top waffle fries with sliced steak, peppers & onions, and melted cheese.
Manny’s Tortas is throwing the pig down with a Three Little Pigs Torta: pork loin, Black Forest ham, and applewood smoked bacon.
Minnesota Wine Country is doing some portabella mushroom bites to class it up, and then some wine-glazed deep fried meatloaf to bring it back home.
Candied bacon cannoli at Ole’s Cannolis . . . bacon is BIG this year.
Looks like Mancini’s is BRINGING IT with porketta pig wings! Plus cicchetti cones (little bread cones stuffed with anti-pasti, meatballs, or shrimp fresca) alongside the signature steak sandwich, and garlic toast. Where’s my Manhattan?
Campbell’s Flavored Corndogs is messing with the legendary pup! They’ll have one infused with jalapeños and cheese, another with sweet corn kernels in the batter, and still one more that’s wrapped in bacon and studded with bacon.
Tracy’s Idaho Taqueria sounds exciting, yes? They’ll have Idaho Nachos which are waffle fries topped with all the good nacho fixings and a baked potato stuffed with it as an Idaho Taco.
Pitchfork Sausage is shunning the stick and going its own route serving a bunch of sausages on a “specially designed pitchfork.” Pioneers!
The Sandwich Stop is amping it up with a curry turkey bacon melt, a pressed Cuban, and a deep-fried Monte Cristo!
