It’s time! Let’s get out our baby strollers, matching jackets, and fanny packs, it’s the Great Minnesota Get Together! Here’s the list of new foods for 2011, I trust we’re all on the same page that OAS = On A Stick, hmmmm? NEW this year, I’ve included a little list of notable beer stops, so that you may wash down your stick cuisine with a righteous and tasty beverage. As Mario says: Here we go!

New Eats!

Andre’s Watermelon: Chocolate covered jalapenos.

Axel’s: Breakfast lollipops . . . sausage dipped in corn muffin batter, fried OAS with maple syrup. (Bonus: Yes, there are the deep fried cheeseburger sliders from last year.)

Blue Moon: Sweet corn ice cream, served in a corn waffle cone or a dish topped with wild blueberry or caramel bacon sauce. Don’t be an idiot, of course the caramel bacon sauce.

Chan’s Chicken OAS: ROOKIE! Teriyaki ckicken OAS plus shrimp fried rice, veggie fried rice, lo mein, and more.

Der Pretzel Haus: Hot dog wrapped in fresh pretzel dough OAS. Y’all know my obsession with these pretz, this is forever my first stop of the day.

El Sol Mexican Foods: Horchata, that refreshingly cold and cinnamony drink. Post pretzel perhaps?

Famous Daves: Rib tips with Southside BBQ sauce. Where’s the schtick? Where’s the pickled pig’s feet dipped in jalapeno chocolate? I, for one, am excited to see a classic.

Fried Fruit: Fresh fruit wraps . . . sliced fruit wrapped in a tortilla with sweet cream cheese.

Giggles: Northwoods salad OAS . . . mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and dressing over chilled wild rice. I’m sure it will completely eclipse the popularity of the chicken fried bacon. Completely.

Granny’s Kitchen Fudge Puppies: White razzy puppies . . . a white chocolate Belgian waffle dipped in dark chocolate and drizzled with raspberry sauce. Do you think the Belgians hate us?

Green Mill: Pizza kabob! Three different flavored pizza rolls OAS.

Harry Singh’s: Jamaican jerk fries . . . fries with jerk seasoning and zippy little dipping sauces, I believe.

Holy Land: Coushari rice with lentil and special sauce.

Midtown Global: When Pham’s is hosting the stand you’ll be able to try the stir fry with chow fun noodles, those flat wide rice noodles with the best name on the planet.

Mineapple Pie: ROOKIE! Deep-fried mini apple pies! Served hot with vanilla or cinnamon ice cream FTW.

Moe and Joes: Not to be outdone, they’ll be upping it with a yankee apple pie chocolate sandwich . . . on brioche. Don’t forget they killed it last year with the Elvis sammie too.

Ollie’s Crab Fritters: Deep fried Caribbean crab fritters with spicy sauce. Crabs, shaped like balls. Let the jokes ensue.

San Felipe Tacos: Carnitas Asian fusion taco . . . Pork on tortilla with cucumber, red pepper, jalapeno and Asian sauces. You know, from Asia.

Spaghetti Eddies: Who better to crank out a dirt dessert . . . crushed Oreos with vanilla pudding and gummy worms.

Spring Grove Soda Pop: ROOKIE! Cane sugar soda, right here in the middle of corn country, whodathunkit.

Starberi Frozen Yogurt: ROOKIE! Frozen yog with fruit, cereal, or candy toppings.

T-Bonz Grill: ROOKIE! Cooking up grilled chicken on pita or grilled Italian sausage.

BEER HERE! Beer snobs no longer need to feel snubbed! Quality suds have become way more available, don’t settle for the Big Watery Nationals just because they’re all over. Take another step, and you’ll likely find the new holy trinity (Summit EPA, Summit Oktoberfest, Grain Belt Nordeast) being offered. Take a few more steps and mark these on your map.

Ball Park Cafe: Seriously into craft, pouring Surly Furious, Bender, and Hell; Liftbridge Farmgirl and Chestnut Hill; Alaskan Amber Ale and IPA; Odell 90 Schilling, Tallgrass Halcyon Wheat, Stone Arrogant Bastard, Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat. Beer geekery commence.

Grandstand Concessions: All you Big Time Rush fans luck out with choices such as Summit EPA and Octoberfest, Nordeast, Finnegan’s, Alaskan Amber Ale, Magic Hat, Circus Boy, and Crispin Currant among others.

O’Gara’s: Guinness, Harp’s, Smithwick’s Irish Ale, Finnegan’s, DeSchutes Mirror Pond, Odell 90 Schilling, Bard’s Gluten Free, any maybe no bagpiper if you’re lucky.

Shanghaied Henri’s: Summit EPA and Oktoberfest AND Red Ale! (Yes, it’s Summit OAS). Plus, Stella Artois, Newcastle, Blue Moon, and hello Guinness.

Giggles: Kickin’ it granite style with Cold Spring’s Almond Honey, Moonlight Ale, and John Henry plus Red Bridge and Walleye Chop.

Dino’s Gyros: Blue Moon, Newcastle, Schell’s Oktoberfest.

Famous Dave’s: Shock Top and Walleye Chop.

Buffalo Burgers: Schell’s Oktoberfest and Firebrick.

Midway Men’s Club: Bard’s Gluten Free Amber.

Frontier Bar: The holy trinity plus Shock Top.

Chicago Dogs: The holy Trinity plus Fat Tire.

Coasters: Fat Tire, Schell’s Oktoberfest.

Leinie Lodge: Of course it’s stocked with all sorts of Leinie goodness. I’m partial to the original, myself.

Cafe Caribe: Red Stripe and Fat Tire.
