What luck! The kiddo and I were driving by and happened to spy that Jack’s was serving dinner!
Java Jack’s (on 46th and Bryant) has now officially morphed into Jack’s, a full-service eatery. They are in quiet-mode right now (hence the shhhhh on the website) serving only a limited portion of the menu, but they are definitely open.
The limited menu is a snapshot of what’s posted online, and we were happy to find that the local cheese curds made the cut. It was a big portion in a cute bucket with a “ranchy” dip. We also had a burger that was obviously hand pattied, love it when an extra lobe hangs off the edge, like a bonus meat treat. We ate the chili, which was smoky and rich, and took home an order of pesto fettuccine for the teen, who inhaled it.
It’s nice to see that next to the farmhouse cheese plate and house-made meat plate, it offers a garden nosh plate with spreads, breads, pickles, and crudites. Oven roasted chicken, wild salmon with apple and blue cheese risotto, and a veggie curry pasty all looked interesting to me. There is an added bar serving wine and beer (locals plus a few worthy out-of-towners) and even a sake bloody mary, which I might order next time with my cheese curds.
So far so good, and I’m fine with being patient while they figure out service. We were told that the full menu should debut pretty soon.
