Burch, Rustica Bakery, and Big Nods to Sea Change’s Jamie Malone and Cooks of Crocus Hill

I ate dinner from Burch in Uptown the other night and really loved it. I was on dad duty and my wife brought me take-out that was phenomenal. She and her pals loved the dine-in experience. Aged beef, marrow ‘dumpling’ meatballs, insanely tender and peppery lemon-kissed kale . . . Isaac Becker has another winner on his hands. I can’t wait to get there…

James Beard Finalists

Beard Awards finalists have been announced, check  out full list at jamesbeard.org. Local talent that has been honored includes Lenny Russo of Heartland and Lynne Rosetto Kasper/Sally Swift of Splendid Table for their latest book. Pet Peeves Uncovered at BLVD

With all the love thrown its way I knew it was too good to be true. I finally ate some chow from Szechuan Spice, the restaurant in the space across the street from the old Lava Lounge, and had a good experience. The food was sometimes tasty.
