Check out the winners of The Munchies, a locally-grown online national conversation about food. Check out all the winners here. I think the depth and breadth across the landscape of winners and nominees was really high quality and proves you can be populist, crowd sourced, and still maintain high standards for achievement and excellence. I am so proud to be involved.

Super Bowl Diary: Behind the Scenes of the VIP Experience
You knew you were in New Orleans and you knew it had to be Super Bowl Week: Elevator-to-baggage claim, 200 limo drivers holding up signs for corporate types and A-List celebs. It’s at 1609 Hennepin Avenue South from 6-10 p.m., off Loring Park. It’s going to be fun. Cool people, great music, fun stuff to see…
Notes from the Field
Think Kyoto. Think Kaiseki. Think fall in Japan meets fall in Chicago. That vibe is in full effect at my new favorite place in America to eat, drink, and hang out: Next Restaurant. Chef Dave Beran told me that rare Japanese maple leaves from the oldest (of that varietal) in the world are being served as an edible component to the dessert course….
