Embarrassing
By Andrew Zimmern
Check out foodincmovie.com, a film that will blow your mind, made by some very talented pals of mine.
DJ Quik’s new single sampling yours truly.
Rick Bayless bashers who make less sense than Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin put together. Expertise has nothing to do with ethnicity or race or hair color or toe nail polish preference. Bayless is one of the most knowledgeable people on the subject of Mexican cuisine in the world, and that opinion is not mine alone. Patricia Quintana, the Julia Child of Mexico, thinks so too.
What do I have in common with Michael Jordan, Dan Aykroyd, John Legend, David Schwimmer, Kate Walsh, George Lopez, Jimmy Fallon, Venus Williams, Joe Mantegna, Jeremy Piven, Andy Roddick, Nick Cannon, John Krasinski, Sophia Bush, Common, Sean Hayes, Zach Braff, and Billy Dec? We all made videos in support of Chicago's bid for the 2016 Olympic Games. Check it all out at aChicagoThing.com or chicago2016.org, the videos debut on Tuesday morning.
Speaking of cool, check out the list of the 55 hippest food celebs to follow on Twitter. One stop shopping for all of your food needs.
And speaking of food celebs, lets get back to Top Chef Masters. Chiarello vs. Dale . . . no contest. What all the whiny chef-testants have forgotten is that guys like Chiarello paid their dues and have been soaring through the stratosphere for 20 years. That’s not luck, that’s talent and grit. And when Chiarello said he ate three guys like Dale each morning for breakfast back in the day, he was telling the truth. If Dale (a listless brat if you ask me) ever has an iota of the career Chiarello has had he will be blessed. Chefs like Chiarello need to be respected. Ditto Jamie dissing Anita Lo. Regardless of whether Chiarello or Dale were being jerks, or if Anita was not having a great organizational day, you have no business stepping to them on national TV until you are a legit talent. None. Now, that being said, how cool was the way Bayless and Keller inspired their chef-testant cook assignees Wednesday night? That’s the sign of uber-greatness.
Lastly, check out mostinterestingacademy.com and go to a Dos Equis party or event near you. The idea is astounding, the curriculum is way cool, and guys like Bear Grylls are involved. I did the Chicago event last Thursday night and it was insane, the best party I went to all year until an hour later when I hit an afterparty for Jeremy Piven at The Underground (owned by Billy Dec) and shot my Olympic promo. That place is slamming.

really this spot is starting to sound more like a entertainment tonight segement than a food and dining blog" for people in the know" please. I think this article is embarrassing..........

From a former neighbor (BTW, has the house sold?), who just moved to Chicago, please reconsider your stance on the Olympics. The citizens of Chicago have to pay for them with raised fees and taxes.

KSTP had a news story about restaurants which collect sales tax but fail to pay it to the state of Minnesota. The story is available on KSTP.com.
Erin Ungerman, stop collecting sales tax and not forwarding it to the state.
Sincerely,
Someone who has pad sales tax at Cafe Ena
