Oh, this is one thing to love about living in Minnesota. Here’s a hot trend that’s only getting hotter (just wait until you get your hands on our October issue) and we have so, so much of it here in town. Faux taxidermy is such a fun add to a room and while designers are all over this modern hunting lodge look, let’s just say my husband wasn’t. Until, that is, he saw the humor in a metallic, papier-mâché stag head—and the opportunity to utilize a major piece of reclaimed wood in the garage.

When I got the decorating green light this Saturday I called West Elm to see if they still had the white stag head. They said that one has been long gone (though still available online) but they had plenty of impalas, elephants, and rhinos in stock. AND, a brand new silver stag that hadn’t even hit the floor. Naturally I drove on down and after the team dug it out of boxes, we all fell in love with “Silver Bambi.”

So consider this your breaking retail product news. The buzz is these holiday-inspired babies won’t be in stock long. I’m loving the silver and the thought of hanging my vintage metallic Christmas ornaments from the antlers. And if we get tired of the metallic, there’s always spray paint.
