Blowdry! will open on Lagoon Avenue in Uptown on Thursday, June 14, which should make it the first of the Twin Cities blowdry bars to actually start serving guests. Blowdry!, which will also offer waxing, brow and lash tints and makeup application, is owned by the pair behind HAUS Salon, Charlie Brackney and Jessica Reipke. Meanwhile, another salon chain is bracing for the onslaught of blowdry bars: New Reflections announced it is “stepping up to the bar” with blowouts starting at $25. It joins Juut which is also undercutting the blowdry bars by reducing the price of a blowout to $30 ($15 at the New Artists Academy in Uptown.)
