Macy’s today announced the theme for Glamorama 2012: British Invasion: The Music Then. The Fashion Now. The annual fashion extravaganza, a benefit for Children’s Cancer Research Fund in the Twin Cities, will take place Aug. 3 at the Orpheum Theatre.
The show, which is a preview of designer fall fashion with elaborate musical and dance numbers, will pay homage to British pop icons from the past 50 years. Beyond the music, expect a Brit spin on the fashion and after party. It’s perfect timing, with the world’s attention on London for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
No announcement yet of a headline act for Glamorama. Last year, Macy’s brought in current chart topper Bruno Mars and Far East Movement to perform. Glamorama kicks off in Minneapolis, and then travels to Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Tickets go on sale June 8 at noon. America Express cardholders can pre-order starting May 30. Tickets are $60 for the show only; $175 and $285 for the show and after-party; $1,000 to also attend a VIP party. Call 952-893-9355 or visit ChildrensCancer.org/Glamorama.
