The Twin Cities is becoming very adept at building blowdry bars. So far, none of them have actually opened. Still, another is in the works: Blowdry! Blowdry Bar is now under construction at 1203 Lagoon Ave. in Uptown, and is scheduled to fire up the blow driers in June. The owners are Charlie Brackney and Jessica Reipke of HAUS Salon. For the past eight months, they’ve been testing techniques, styles, and products with their own “in-Haus” blowdry bar. Blowdry! will specialize in shampoo and styling, for $35.

Meanwhile, both Blast Blow Dry Bar and Wow Bar are behind schedule on construction and vying for the claim to first Twin Cities blow dry bar. Blast is still hoping to get its Shops at West End location open in May, but their website isn’t currently scheduling appointments until July. Blast broke ground last week on its second spot, next to Aloft Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. Wow Bar is planning a June opening at 5037 France Ave. S., Mpls.
