You’re ready for the big day. You’ve planned and prepped, picked the dress, placed the guests; everything is set. The photographer is ready to snap the formal photos, the band is ready to play. But what about the candid moments you want to capture? What about the loved ones who couldn’t make it but still want to participate in your wedding? To the rescue: the Wedding Party app. Its mission? To “showcase how awesome your wedding is.”
The Wedding Party app allows you as a couple and your wedding guests to collaborate and interact before, during, and after your big day. Guests can upload candid photos taken at the main event, share notes, and even create a digital guestbook within the app.
Himani Amoli, one of the Wedding Party’s founders, says the design for the Wedding Party app was inspired by the engagements and weddings of close friends.
“We realized that from the moment a couple gets engaged to the time they get married, there’s a real pent up energy and excitement around the whole experience by both the couple and their close friends and family,” Amoli says. ”The goal of Wedding Party is to tap into this excitement and help people showcase and capture this incredibly important experience with the people they care about most.”
Wedding guests receive a message from the bride-and-groom-to-be, inviting them to download the app, either with an email address or, in the near future, a Facebook account. By installing the app on their smartphones, guests are able to interact with each other before the big day and upload photos or add notes during and after the celebration. Family members and friends unable to attend can view the app’s collected content in real time on an accompanying website, including a timeline based on the time photos are taken.
Capturing candid moments and creating a place for guests to interact before, during, and after the big day? Yes, there’s an app for that.
The Wedding Party app is available for download from iTunes. For more information, visit the Wedding Party’s website.
