What do you get when you bring together a few Twin Cities vintage vendors, a couple of bloggers, and a fall weekend in October? A can’t-miss vintage shopping extravaganza.

We’re so excited to announce the Mighty Swell Vintage pop-up sale at Umber Studios for one weekend only! Meghan McAndrews and Rae Danneman, both Minneapolis bloggers and  lovers of all things vintage, are putting this event together because of frustrations with online retailing.

So on Saturday, Oct. 2, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 3, from noon to 5 p.m. you won't want to miss out on perusing one-of-a-kind pieces to be added to your collection. Shoes, coats, pants, boots, jewelry, and dresses will all be on sale at ridiculously low prices to tug on the heartstrings of your ever-adoring-vintage heart.

Here’s what the gals who are running the show tell me you'll find at this temporary retail gem:

Bourbon & Lace: Thrifty vintage from every era: from darling ’50s day dresses to playful ’70s rompers to rad ’80s party wear. In addition to clothes for both guys and gals, sized tiny to curvy, there’s heaps of jewelry, accessories, purses, bags, shoes, and outerwear looking for good homes. Also, expect a few house wares and other goodies thrown in for good measure.

High Plains Thrifter: Ladylike garments from the 1940s on, with an emphasis on quality and all-around loveliness. Walk away with cozy fur-trimmed coats, classic suiting and separates, work-ready blouses, weekend-ready denim, classic lingerie, and heaps of flattering, feminine dresses. Curvy ladies come first at High Plains, with plenty of goodies sized 12 and up.

Salvaged Strawberry: Charming vintage house wares and pretty décor for your home. Gathered by a bargain-hunting queen and sold for rock-bottom prices. Peruse a quaint collection of goodies for your household, including linens, kitchenware, collectibles, artwork, quilts, and so much more.

two birds: Handpicked vintage clothing, including winter coats and dresses from the 1950s-’80s; vintage shoes and boots, jewelry, including chunky necklaces; brooches and pendants; housewares, including painted trays, retro tchotchkes, mid-century glassware; artwork; furniture, and more.

Geisha Pearl Vintage: On-trend vintage apparel including a full array of dresses, blazers, tops, sweaters, short, pants, and a ton of accessories. Everything from black & white oxford flats to thick wool cardigans to plum-colored high-waisted shorts. Look for our lovely vintage accessories—bags, jewelry & shoes—scattered throughout the sale!

Tulabaru: This Etsy shop owner makes fancy, vintage-inspired head pieces. She loves to use brooches, flowers, silk, and other fun materials in her products, which make for great accessories at any occasion!

Listen in: Vintage dresses will start at $15. Yep, $15. Need a jacket or coat (or two or three?) They start at $20! Also find blouses, skirts, bottoms, and accessories aplenty, starting at $5. Mighty Swell also tells us there will be $5 mystery grab bags and a bargain rack full of summer and sale stuff, with more items added daily.

What's cooler than all of this excitement? The ladies are offering on-site alterations to cinch in waists or hem up skirts for added convenience. They will also offer coffee and donuts on Saturday morning, so you can be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for a day of shopping!

Comments

I have a 1948 wedding gown, size 12. It would need cleaning/pressing. Is there any interest?
