Attention invitation hounds and Stillwater day trippers (brides- and grooms-to-be, and MOBs): Here’s the latest by our Mpls.St.Paul Weddings contributor and guest blogger, Kristina Anderson:

Weddings, or anything related to them, never used to catch my eye. I am definitely not one of those girls who’s been planning my future wedding since grade school. But lately, things have changed. No, I’m not planning my walk down the aisle, but my mailbox has filled up with wedding invitations. I have eight (yes, you read that right) weddings to attend this summer all across the Midwest. I’ll stand up as bridesmaid at three of them.

Now, I’m addicted to weddings and can’t help myself: I’m ripping out pictures of wedding gowns from the pages of magazines for my friends, offering color palette suggestions, and noticing little things around town.

This past weekend, Stillwater caught my eye:

The St. Croix River town’s stationery gem, Pulp Fashion, and sister company, Mara-Mi, are upgrading to a two-level shared space on downtown Stillwater’s Main Street. The first floor will feature Pulp Fashion’s retail—which includes Mara-Mi stationery and invitations—while upstairs hosts the design studio. Brides will find a one-stop invitation shop with custom design, in-house printing, and DIY options. The new Mara-Mi Store + Studio is scheduled to open May 15.

While you’re there, pick up my new favorite bride-to-be necessity (I snagged some as gifts for my bride friends): Bride Ideas Sticky Notes, by Chronicle Books. The color-coded stickies—for categories such as wedding dress, flowers, jewelry, food, etc.—are perfect for flagging ideas in bridal magazines and books. There are even tabs to jot down music you want to remember, to-do lists, and notes to your groom.
